Samsung launches famous “curved screen TV” in Romania. Aims to sell 1,000 units

Samsung launched its 55 and 65 inch Ultra High Definition (UHD) curved screen TVs in Romania. Prices for the new device start at RON 14,000 – or EUR 3,100, and can reach RON 20,000 – or some EUR 4,400, according to Wall-Street.ro.

The 78-inch version will also be launched in the second half of the year. This will sell for over RON 25,000 – or some EUR 5,500.

Samsung estimates curved screen TV sets will bring at least 10 percent of the 4K TV market in Romania by the end of the year.

“The curve enhances the ultra HD experience,” asserts Vinod Nair, General Manager of Audio Visual Sales and Marketing at Samsung Gulf Electronics in Dubai. The GM added when the TV was first launched that the curved screen  “makes the screen appear larger than what it is.”
