Romanian telecom market keeps stable evolution for 2012, summing up EUR 3.3 billion

Total revenues from the supply of telecom networks and services summed up approximately EUR 3.3 billion (RON 14.83), up by 0.2 percent compared to 2011.

Retail revenues represent 76 percent of total revenues, having increased by 1.8 percent compared to 2011.

Revenues from telecom networks and services in the retail market have reached the RON 11.25 billion value (EUR 2.5 billion), of which RON 5.45 billion (EUR 1.2 billion) were obtained by mobile telephony services, RON 2.16 billion (approx. EUR 485 million) from internet services, RON 1.58 billion (EUR 354 million) from broadcasting services and RON 1.44 billion (EUR 323 million) from fixed telephony services. Of these, internet services saw the highest growth, which amounted to 17.4 percent, especially mobile internet which hiked by 45.3 percent and reached RON 854 million (EUR 191.7 million) in 2012.

Mobile telephony brought the most significant revenues on the retail market, which amounted to 37 percent, internet services generated 15 percent of the revenues and broadcasting services brought 11 percent of revenues.

Revenues on the telecom wholesale market decreased by 4.4 percent in 2012 compared to 2011 up to RON 3.59 billion (EUR 806 million).
