Newsroom 07/11/2014 | 16:30

The Top 300 Capital ranking of the Romanian media moguls has remained roughly the same. Household names such as Adrian Sarbu, Dan Adamescu, Dan Voiculescu or Zoltan Teszari share the top ten with newer names such as Anca Vlad or Valer Blidar, with businesses in the regional media, accordign to Paginademedia.ro.

However, it seems the media is not a very lucrative business because the businesspeople in the top ten run their core business elsewhere.

The ranking of the top ten richest media moguls placed Zoltan Teszari, with a wealth of EUR 530-560 million, on the first place. The businessman controls RCS&RDS which includes the TV Digi Sport, Digi 24, Digi World and Digi Life

Ionuț Negoita, owner of the Ring tabloid, came the fifth with an estimated wealth of EUR 153-EUR 156 million. His business lies mainly in real estate and tourism. He is the owner of the Rin hotel chain.

Anca Vlad, with an estimated wealth of EUR 135 million, owns the online Senso TV stations and the magazines Farmacia ta, Tonica, Slab sau gras and Galen. Her core business is the Fildas-Catena group.
