ITS Reisen intends to expand promotion of Romania in 2013 with the help of a brochure dedicated to the country. It will be distributed mainly in Germany,Austria and Switzerland.
The Danube Delta, cultural circuits, but also active and nature tourism, especially hiking trips and flora and fauna watching activities, are the main forms of tourism that will be promoted in the brochure dedicated to Romania. The catalogue, which is to be produced this autumn, will be distributed next year by about 2,500 agents selling ITS products in German, Austria and Switzerland. At the same time, Romania will continue to appear in the tour operator`s “City Trips” catalogue, with destinations such as Bucharest and Sibiu (in picture).
Romania`s promotion in an dedicated catalogue is aimed at highlighting those tourism experiences known in specialized terms as “unique selling points” – those that differentiate the national offer on the international tourism market, which may determine tourists to choose Romanian destinations for their holidays instead of others.
The decision was taken after discussions initiated by Tourism State Secretary Cristian Bărhălescu with representatives of the tour operator in August, in Berlin, and continued by the Tourism Ministry MRDT in October, in Salzburg, on the occasion of the launch of the ITS 2013 Catalogue.
ITS Reisen, alongside Jahn Reisen, Tjaereborg, ADAC Reisen, LTUplus, DERTOUR and Meiers Weltreisen, is part of the tourism division of REWE group. REWE ranks second among Germany`s tourism groups, in terms of profit, and holds over 2,500 own and franchise travel agencies, or in cooperation with other travel agencies (such as Atlas Reisen, DER Reisebüro, DERPART etc.) but also its own incoming agencies in 13 countries.
ITS is one of the tour operators that have registered increases in the market and attract tourists interested in Romania`s specific forms of tourism, as they were identified in the studies and strategic documents made for the MRDT in the field.
