Pro TV group has notified the National Audio-Visual Council (CNA) that it will exit the must-carry list of programs. From now on, cable providers must request approval and pay to broadcast the Pro TV channels to their subscribers.
This measure will be applied starting July 23, according to paginademedia.ro.
“We have made this decision due to the fact that Pro TV is in a process of altering its distribution strategy with a view to passing to the terrestrial digital broadcasting and implementing digital multimedia services nationally after a concept that will help us minimize the impact of digitalization on the business. The changes in the distribution will not affect in any way the content,” stated the TV provider.
The offer is valid for 4 years. The official monthly price is RON 4.5 (VAT not included) per subscriber.
Discounts can go up to 66.6 percent in case a certain cable company has more than 3 million subscribers.
Last year, Central European Media Enterprises (CME) announced revenues of USD 134 million from TV operations and an operational profit of USD 10.14 billion.
