Prime-minister Victor Ponta mentioned on Tuesday that he means to organize the paperwork for naming the new PNL ministers nominated on February 7. He is currently waiting for Crin Antonescu to agree with the changes, after which he will send the necessary documents to the Presidency.
Ponta also mentioned that he wants to propose Klaus Iohannis for the position of Internal Minister, without mentioning whather the mayor of Sibiu would also fill the position of deputy prime minister.
“Today, I will make the proposal that mister Iohannis take over the Internal Affairs portofolio and I hope he will enjoy a long and stable mandate”, Ponta said to the press.
Afterwards, asked by the journalists if that is the only proposal he will make today, Ponta answered:
“No, there are four proposals. Today I will organize the paperwork for the four and if by the 17:00, mr. Antonescu gives me his ok, I will send them to the president and with that I hope this conversation is over”.
The four PNL proposals are:
Minister of Internal Affairs – Klaus Iohannis, instead of Radu Stroe
Minister of Economy – Teodor Atanasiu instead of Andrei Gerea
Minister of Public Finances – Eugen Nicolaescu instead of Daniel Chitoiu
Minister of Health – Cristian Busoi instead of Eugen Nicolaescu.
Victor Ponta expressed his wish that on Tuesday evening, after the general PNL meeting, that the current USL crisis will be solved. In the prime-minister’s opinion, the crisis is a minor one and nothing happened so far that couldn’t be amended.
