The National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF) has identified prejudices related to criminal complaints totalling over EUR 1 billion (RON 4.86 billion). This represents an increase of almost 87 percent against the same period last year.

This is a direct result of orienting tax audits to major fields of activity that present a high risk quota and improving the taxpayer control selection, an ANAF press release shows.

According to the agency, other indicators have also shown an increase as compared to last year: supplementary tax differences (main duties and accessories) – RON 7.87 billion, up by about 122 percent, diminishing tax loss – RON 866.93 million, up by about 61 percent and value of insurance measures enforced – RON 2.50 billion, up by about 133 percent.

The ANAF reports having conducted over 26,000 inspections of legal and natural entities and asserts that their control activities will continue at the same pace for the remainder of the year.
