Orange Romania revenues stagnated in the first half of the year at EUR 448.3 million and increased 4.5 percent excluding the impact of termination rate cuts. In the first semester of 2013, Orange Romania posted revenues of EUR 449 million.
On June 30 2014, Orange had 10.384.000 clients in Romania, up 184,000 compared to June 30, 2013 and down 10,000 clients month on month.
In the second quarter of 2014, mobile traffic increased 50 percent year on year, given that the company sold more smartphones and tablets.
“In the second quarter, mobile traffic in the network increased 50 percent compared to the same period last year, given the larger number of tablets sold – three times as many as were sold in the first half of 2013 – and the number of smartphones sold. One of every two mobiles sold was a smartphone. We increased four times the number of smartphones with 4G capabilities sold in that same interval, compared to last year”, according to a press release from the Telecom operator.
Orange Romania boasts it has the “number 1” 4G network in Romania and also the larget portfolio of 4G gadgets – 33 models, with the highest coverage (76 percent of urban population) and the fastest speeds (300 mbps).
