Orange Romania revenues fell by 2.7 percent to EUR 909 million in 2014, mainly due to interconnection fares, while the number of clients grew by 95.000 to 10.531 million, the company said on Tuesday.

Excluding the impact of the interconnection fares, the operator’s revenues were 4.2 percent higher last year when the company registered incomes amounting EUR 934 million, according to a press release.

Orange Romania revenues stood at EUR 233 million in Q4 2014. Also, the operator’s mobile data consumption increased by 85 percent in the last quarter of 2014 compared to the same period of previous year.

In 2014, Orange invested in upgrading and expanding the coverage of 3G, 4G and 4G +. Mobile Internet traffic jumped 85 percent on the year and sales of 4G tablets and smartphones surged four-fold in the fourth quarter alone.
