Over 13 percent of young people aged between 19 and 24 who have submitted their CV this year have no prior professional experience, which is nearly double, compared to last year. In 2013, just 7 percent of young job applicants did not have any experience, according to a survey by Studio Moderna.

The survey was carried out between January 2013 and July 2014 on more than 10,000 people above 18 years old.

Only the 18 year old age group saw progress. Compared to last year, when all of them had no professional experience, this year only half were in the no-experience group.

For the other age categories, the situation worsened gradually. If in 2013, 7 percent of young people aged between 18 and 20 had no experience, this year the number hiked to 35 percent.

In the age group 20-22, the number of young people with no experience grew from 29 percent in 2013 to 31 percent this year, in the age group 22-24 years old from 10 to 18 percent and in the age group above 24 from 2 to 5 percent.

“It is very important for young people to find a job rapidly to shape their professional personality. Even a part-time job is very important and useful, because it allows to gain valuable experience and helps to set some professional targets in accordance with the realities on the labor market,” according to Zoltan Pilecki, general manager Studio Moderna.
