New changes in Polisano management structure

The president of the Polisano group, Remus Borza (in picture), has appointed new people at the management of drug producer Polipharma Industries, Sibpharmamed, which runs the Reteta pharmacy chain and the Polisano clinic that runs the Polisano European Hospital.

Polisano is active in the drug production and distribution field as well as integrated medical services provided within its network of hospitals, clinics and pharmacies.

In 2014, Polisano posted a turnover of nearly EUR 400 million, and has a team of 2,000 employees.

Borza plans to develop the medical division by opening three new radiotherapy centers, a new clinic in Bucharest and to expand the Plaza Polisano clinic.

Starting January 15, 2015, Ciprian Ciobanu was appointed development director of the Polisano clinic, that runs various laboratories, clinics and hospitals in Bucharest, Sibiu and Miercurea-Ciuc.

Previously, Ciobanu was development director at MedLife over the past 13 years.

In November 2014, Celestin Constantin was appointed at the management of the company. Previously, he was general manager of the Sf. Pantelimon Emergency Hospital in Bucharest and before that, economic manager of the Floreasca emergency hospital.

The Polisano European Hospital is the latest investment of the group, totaling EUR 30 million, which covers 35 medical areas, 8 operation theaters, a modern Radiotherapy and Radiology Center and the largest private maternity.

Sorin Banciu was appointed general manager at the drug production unit into which the company invested over EUR 60 million. 

He is a doctor, having graduated in 1997  from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Targu-Mures, and has an MBA in management. He worked for 15 years for companies like Pfizer, Schering Plough, MSD, Amgen Romania and Amgen Central Europe.

Starting January 2015, he joined the management team of  Polipharma Industries, with the goal of setting in motion the production lines for oncology, injectable and solid drugs before March 30, 2015, and identifying new export markets.

Cornelia Tufaru was appointed production manager in the drug company. She graduated from the Politehnica University and the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, has an MBA in Management, Business and Administration.

She has a rich background in managing drug production units, after working as executive manager at Polipharma Industries between 2012 and June 2014, operations manager at Fabryo Corporation between 2007 and 2012, manager of the Biofarm production unit between 2005 and 2006, manager at the Zentiva production unit between 2000 and 2005 and production manager at Biofarm between 1998-2000 .

Mirela Elena Jumanca was appointed at the head of Sibpharmamed, which runs a network of 67 drug stores under the Reteta brand. She has 12 years of experience in the distribution of medicines, having worked as sales manager at  Tamisa Trading (Montero) and regional manager at SIEPCOFAR (The Dona Pharmacies).

Her immediate goal is to re-brand the chain of pharmacies and acquire new pharma points.

Starting February 2015, the Reteta pharmacies will be rebranded as the Polisano pharmacies. 

By 2017, Polisano aims to acquire another 100 pharmacies so that the two chains of pharmacies in the group run by Polisano Pharma and Sibpharmamed will exceed 200 units.
