American company Microsoft will hire several hundred IT experts in Romania over the next 5 years.
The company currently has 700 employees, said Andrew Townhill, EMEA Chief Technology Officer of Microsoft Customer Services and Support, for Mediafax newswire.
According to Townhill, ten years ago, there was a single PC in a family of five, which was used by all the family members, Now, each person is using different types of devices, and as a leader in technology, Microsoft must always think of the next step.
The company will hire people from all over the world. The Romanian team is expected to increase by up to 150 new people per year and the new people will be included in the IT support and software development divisions, according to Florin Grama, director of the Customer Service & Support division at Microsoft Romania, for Mediafax.
He said the 700 employees are split between two divisions, a sales & marketing one and a technical support & services for customers in Europe, Middle East and Africa. Out of these, 600 are tech specialists and 100 are employed in sales and marketing, according to Mediafax.
