Romanian subway operator Metrorex will buy eight more subway trains from Spain’s CAF for EUR 47 million, from the European Investment Bank, writes Mediafax.

The new trains are similar to the 16 already bought from CAF based on an EUR 97 million contract signed in 2011, according to the Spanish company.  The contract was extended to include the new order.

The first trains acquired from CAF based on the contract signed in 2011 were placed in circulation in July this year.

The trains have 6 wagons and a total capacity of 1,200 travellers.
