Metrorex allocates EUR 8.6 mln for airport subway line

Metrorex, with an investment budget of nearly RON 2 billion (EUR 450 million) in 2015, will allocate RON 38.5 (EUR 8.6 million) for the subway line project that will connect Gara de Nord stop to the Henri Coanda airport. According to the company, as quoted by Mediafax, the line is due in 2020, requirement imposed by UEFA.

For the line to the airport, Metrorex aims services of projection, consultancy and execution of stops and tunnels structure.

In Bucharest, in 2020, will take place as part of the European Football Championship’s final tournament.

The company managing Bucharest’s subway allocated last year RON 1.14 billion (EUR 256 million) for its investment activity.

The Romanian subway network length totals almost 70 kilometers, distributed on four lines and 51 stops. Metrorex has approximately 4.200 employees.
