IT&C and electronic appliance retailer Media Galaxy announced a new strategy that places focus on the omnichannel experience, which integrates the online channel, services offered to customers in the store and provides various acquisition possibilities.

The company plans solid investments into large brick-and-mortar stores but also into the optimization of its online channel.

In November, Media Galaxy will inaugurate a new store in Timisoara Shopping City, with an investment of EUR 1.5 million.

Online sales represent 10 percent of the total Media Galaxy sales, and 23 percent of these are carried out from mobile devices.

“We were the first electro-IT retailer to open stores that cover more than 2,500 sqm. We were followed by Domo Land and Flanco World who tried to copy our model, but they disappeared. All the innovations were based on research. Careful research into the consumers’ needs and the evolution of the market in general. In this context, the omnichannel strategy is a certainty, the reality of our customers today and their way of expression tomorrow,” said  Dan Ostahie, CEO Media Galaxy.

Over the past 10 years, Media Galaxy has invested EUR 25 million into its 17 stores and online sales platform, opening new showrooms or refurbishing existing locations.

In 2015, Media Galaxy invested EUR 1 million into the opening of a new showroom in Mega Mall Bucharest.

In Iasi, the retailer invested EUR 500,000 into the refurbishment of the store in the Felicia Iasi commercial center.

In Constanta, the company invested mre than EUR 250,000 into a new concept store in the Tom compound.

Media Galaxy is part of Altex Romania group.
