MEC has won the Vodafone global media account, reports Adweek.com.
“WPP Group’s MEC will take on the business, with annual media spending estimated at more than USD 900 million, according to sources. The agency’s London office will lead all efforts,” according to the piece in Adweek.com.
The Vodafone global account was won in 2009 by OMD. In Romania, after a short period, the Vodafone account went back to McCann, according to paginademedia.ro.
OMD, part of Omnicom Group, was eliminated before the final round. The final round took place between MEC and Carat, part of Dentsu.
MEC Romania will be led by Oana Padure who will be taking over the managing director position starting May. She will be replacing Bogdan Prajisteanu.
