British DIY retailer Kingfisher has finished remodeling six more former Bricostores, which it will reopen Friday as Brico Depot stores.

“Brico Depot announces the inauguration of six new “depots”, that began their transformation in August, thereby reaching a total network of 8 units on the local market. The stores are part of the 15 Bricostore units bought in June, last year, and they were designed after the famous Brico Depot model” according to a press release from the DIY retailer.

The stores in question are located in Chiajna (Militari), Ploieşti, Piteşti, Braşov, Arad and Oradea and are operated by 70 employees in total.

“The sic stores join the other two already opperational in Bucharest, so now we own a total of 8 Brico Depot units in the country. We will continue the transformation process for the rest of the stores where renovation work will continue until the first quarter of 201”, according Patrick Papot, deputy executive director for Brico Depot Romania.

Kingfisher announced in April last year that it acquired 15 stores from Group Bresson, owner of the Bricostore network, which in 2012 posted EUR 131 million sales.
