Ikea Romania reports EUR 89 mln turnover for catalog year 2012

Some 2.9 million people have visited Ikea’s only local store during the September 2011 – August 2012 period where they spent about RON 401 million (approximately EUR 89 million). Ikea’s sales were up 10.8 percent y-o-y.

The store which is located in the Baneasa retail park in Bucharest sold 11,363,678 products out of which 56 percent were furniture items and the rest were decorations and accessories.

Ikea Romania has 441 employees. The store was opened in March 2007 and for the following three years it operated as a franchise. In March 2010 it became part of the Ikea Group. Ikea Romania was the 253^rd store opened by the Swedish furniture company.
