Spanish tennis player Guillermo Garcia-Lopez has won this year’s edition of the 439,405 euro-worth BRD Nastase Tiriac Trophy tournament to the Czech Jiri Vesely 7-6 (7/5), 7-6 (13/11) in the singles final on Sunday at the Bucharest BNR Arenas, reports Agerpres.
Aged 31, Garcia-Lopez wins his fifth ATP title and his 2nd this year, after the one in February, in Zagreb to Italian Andreas Seppi (7-6, 6-3). The Spaniard had succeeded to eliminate in the semifinals of the Bucharest competition the No. 2, French Gael Monfils.
Vesely, 21, No. 7, has but one ATP title, he has won this January, in Auckland, New Zealand.
The BRD Nastase Tiriac Trophy 2015 finals lasted 2 hours 14 minutes, both sets being decided at tie-break. The winner took EUR 80,000 and 250 ATP points, whilst the defeated will go home with EUR 42,100 and 150 ATP points.
