Gothaer Asigurari Reasigurari names new deputy CEO

Lucian Marin, 41, has been appointed deputy CEO of Gothaer Asigurari Reasigurari, part of German insurer Gothaer Group.

Marin previously served as director of the non-life division in Groupama Asigurari, overseeing the corporate segment. He has worked in the insurance industry in the past 17 years. Marin worked at ASIBAN between 2000 to 2008. The deputy CEO also held positions at ASIROM, Garanta and Ion Tiriac Insurance Company.

Anca Babaneata, CEO Gothaer Asigurari Reasigurari, said Marin will support the development of the insurer.

Marin was member in the administration board of PAID and president of the agriculture department at the Romanian Insurers Association UNSAR. He was also a member of the forum of brokers and commercial lines at Groupama.

The German insurer currently has 180 employees in Romania, reporting gross written premiums worth EUR 8.4 million at end 2012.
