Adriana Boscanici, Managing Partner, Trainart, and Dan Vasile, theatre director and trainer, have launched Metamorphosis, a leadership program with unconventional training techniques, designed for top management or entrepreneurs.

What is intuitive leadership?

Adriana Boscanici: Leadership is translated in Romanian using the word “management” (Romanian “conducere”), a word originated from the Latin, which means to accompany somebody, a vast and more general concept than the English word “leadership”. Returning to the original definition, the Latin one, to accompany someone means to know more about both the leader and the team. Why? Basically because the followers should reach their maximum potential and thus to have the best results.

In order to know, motivate, guide someone, you need to have a relationship with that person. And for a relationship between two people to function, we need other ingredients besides logic, analysis, experience. And so appears in the picture the intuitive leadership that puts at the same table both logical and rational analysis and intuition – a form of prior knowledge without previous logical reasoning. Therefore, a leader can have a comprehensive approach, integrating one, which recognizes and honors the complexity of the human being, the people they lead and take into account the inner voice of intuition when he/she is taking decisions, guide, motivate or delegate.

What is experiential learning?

Adriana Boscanici: The concept of “experiential learning” was established by David Kolb in 1984. The author emphasizes the critical role that the experience plays in the learning process. Kolb provides a holistic view of the process of learning that combines experience, perception, cognition and behavior. Experiential learning is defined as a process in which knowledge is created through the transformation of experience.

At Metamorphosis, participants are exposed to complex experiences designed to help (re) discover of the self. Director Dan Vasile with whom we have designed this program says that “the experiences of which I invite the participants are destabilizing, uncomfortable, sometimes irritating. Of course, this happens in a protected setting, with humor and freedom of choice. This out of the ordinary and the routine process causes the beginning of a very deep process.”

After completing the program, some participants ask for individual coaching sessions where we work on specific problems identified in the workshop.

Was there a pilot program before the official release of Metamorphosis program?

Adriana Boscanici: In 2010, Trainart launched the Personal Development Alternative program, focused on programs that trigger the creativity to support and develop innovation in companies. This division includes two programs. Training directorial techniques, a concept that addresses only to the top management and stimulate creativity, alternative thinking and is based on a selection of techniques used by directors when working with actors. The second, Metamorphosis – is the intuition leadership program, a course of ‘flight’ through the ego and the teams, open version of the previous program, structured both for top managers to line managers and entrepreneurs. Metamorphosis program was run in the organization in 2010, in-house and the feedback of the participants have encouraged and stimulated us to develop and expand it in the open version.

What methods are used for this training?

Adriana Boscanici: In experiential training program, the techniques used are those for coordinating teams of players – role playing and simulation, automatic dictation, individual and group improvisation, simulated situations, working on personal and  real situations.

When was the program introduced on the market?

Adriana Boscanici: In 2010, as an in-house training program and as an open version, from February 2013.

How many people have participated until now?

Adriana Boscanici: For the in-house training course we had more than 100 persons. For the open version of the program launched two months ago, almost 30 persons have participated.

Which is the profile of the participant of the program?

Dan Vasile: The participants are persons who have managerial positions or key positions, or persons who want to challenge their abilities or rediscover their skills. The individual motivations for picking this training course are diverse and involve the need to freshen the relational skills, correct identification of the potential of the team members they lead or the conflict management. Also, on a personal level, it is the urge to “start over” with new forces. They are generally people in Romanian companies and multinational companies, medium and large business.

How much does the program cost?

Adriana Boscanici: The cost of the program starts from EUR 450 + VAT (Early Bird) to EUR 690 + VAT.
