Follow the Easter Bunny: Traditional fairs in Bucharest

Starting with April 11, the Romanian capital summoned the craftsmen and the handmade artisans from all over the country to fill up the traditional spots reserved for arts and craft fairs. Here are some of the places around Bucharest where you are sure to find traditional presents for your loved ones.

Easter Gifts Fair – Sala Dalles

Besides the Romanian traditionally hand-painted Easter-eggs, you can find a lot of other handmade items, such as pottery or blankets, there are even artists displaying their self-made jewelry or paintings and you can even get a painting done for yourself. There are also cosmetic products, most of them created on a natural base, and if you have a sweet tooth, you will be delighted to find a lot of sweets, chocolate and various desserts for you.

Easter Fair – Children’s World Park

April 11 – 19

The fair is organised by Andrew Professional Consulting and the District 4 Town Hall. Here you will find: gingerbread, Romanian cakes, baclava, painted eggs, pottery and wood carvings, traditional Romanian meat and dairy products, kurtos kolac, fur coats, grilled fish etc.

Families will want to bring their kids to play at the petting zoo with lambs and rabbits.

Traditions and Flowers for the Holidays, Cismigiu Park
District 5
April 11 – 21

Bucharest Town Hall and the Arts Center for Bucharest will host the Fifth Edition of the “Traditions and Flowers for the Holidays Fair’. The event will reunite traditional craftsment and artists from different parts of the world. Inhabitants of Bucharest will be able to join in interactive activities or enjoy concerts, stage plays and a special rabbit exhibit.
