Film lovers are expected at the tenth edition of Anonimul Film Festival

Between August 9-18, in Sfantu Gheorghe, the Danube Delta, will be hosted the tenth edition of the Anonimul Film Festival. At this edition, Wong Kar-wai’s most recent film, The Grandmaster will be opening the anniversary edition of Anonimul International Independent Film Festival.

Set against the tumultuous backdrop of 1930’s China, The Grandmaster is inspired by the life and times of the legendary Ip Man, mentor to Bruce Lee and a master of the Wing Chun school of Kung fu. For this film, Wong Kar-wai worked with Tony Leung- awarded Best Actor in Cannes, in 2000 for his role in In the Mood for Love and with Ziyi Zhang- Golden Globe nominee for her role in Memoirs of a Geisha and a three-times BAFTA nominee.

Screened in the opening of the 2013 Berlinale, The Grandmaster will be presented in a preview screening at Anonimul, courtesy of Independenţa Film. The film will be premiering in cinemas across Romania September 13.

The films in competition are THE MAJOR (d. Yuri Bykov, Russia, 2013), MY DOG KILLER (d. Mira Fornay, Slovakia- Czech Republic, 2013), TALL AS THE BAOBAB TREE (d. Jeremy Teicher, Senegal-US, 2012).
