Romania foreign direct investment (FDI) totaled EUR 299 million in January, up by almost 23 percent against the same period last year, when the National Bank of Romania (BNR) announced a level of EUR 244 million, but against the previous month the indicator has slightly decreased, reports BNR quoted by Mediafax.
In December, foreign investment amounted to EUR 304 million.
Foreign direct investment fell by 10.6 percent last year compared to 2013, to about EUR 2.43 billion from EUR 2.71 billion in 2013.
November saw the highest level of FDI attracted by Romania since the beginning of last year, of EUR 531 million, followed by the one in May, of EUR 306 million.
In 2013, foreign direct investment increased by 26.8 percent y-o-y to EUR 2.713 billion, reaching the peak of the last four years, after in 2012 was recorded the first positive signal since the beginning of the crisis.
