Eurostat: Romanian retail sees third sharpest drop in the EU in June

The volume of retail sales in Romania saw a 3.1 percent decrease in June compared to the same period in 2012, representing the third steepest drop in the European Union, after Spain which saw a 6.9 percent and Slovenia where retail dropped by 3.6 percent, according to Eurostat.

At the level of the entire European Union, retail saw a slight growth of 0.1 percent.

On the other hand, retail hiked in countries like Luxembourg by 27.5 percent, Lithuania with 6.7 percent and Poland with 5.5 percent. 

Reported to May, ten states saw growth while in other eleven states, retail was on a negative trend. Compared to May, retail in June in Romania increased by 0.1 percent.
