ETI will invest EUR 30 million to make biscuits in Craiova

Turkish company ETI Gida Sanayi, specialized in making candy and sweets, will invest EUR 30 million in a biscuit factory in Craiova. The company has a received EUR 6 million in aid from the Romanian Government.

ETI Gida Sanayi ve Ticaret is a the owner of the popular brand of biscuits ETI Negro. In April, the Turkish company will begin work on a new factory in Craiova, on the Industrial Park platform (Parcul Industrial Craiova – PIC).

“We’ve signed a contract with ETI Gida on November 19 2013 for 7.6 ha of land for this greenfield investment. But there is this condition for government aid. Once the State will approve the financing, on April 14 we will begin construction on the production halls, this being the first stage of the investments”, according to Martin Nicoli, director of the Industrial Park.

In the second stage of the project, ETI Gida will acquire another 4 ha of land.

ETI Gida was founded in 1962 as a family company that started with 20 employees. Nowadays, the Turkish group employs 5,000 people and exports its products in over 60 countries.
