Epoque Hotel, the five star boutique hotel in Bucharest, said its revenues expanded by 9 percent to RON 3.4 million (EUR 760,359) in the first semester against the same period of last year, driven by a higher occupancy rate, mainly in business tourism.

Diana Popescu, owner and CEO Epoque Hotel, estimates a 16 percent expansion in revenues by year end, as the hotel seeks to consolidate partnerships on the business corporate segment and boost its leisure arm.

“The growth we have seen in the first half of 2013 and especially in the second trimester proves that Epoque has an outstanding retention rate and, as a plus, it succeeds in increasingly attracting the leisure segment; while in 2012 90 percent of our guests were business travelers, this year we have a ratio of 75 percent business and 25 percent leisure,” said Popescu.

Epoque’s first half occupancy rate increased by 23 percent versus the same period of last year, operating an average occupancy rate of 59 percent, which is above the estimate market average of 55 percent.

The hotel, which was opened in November 2010, targets both business and leisure FIT tourists (free independent traveler).
