Dacia registrations in France drop by 13.6 pct in Q1

New Dacia car registrations in France fell by 13.6 percent in Q1 against the same period in 2014, to 24,497 units, marking the strongest decline among the brands with a high volume of sales, on a market up by 6.9 percent.

According to Mediafax, by March-end, the Romanian brand’s market share stood at 5.13 percent.

With sales of 28,349 personal cars in Q1 2014, Dacia was having at the end of March 2014 a share of 6.35 percent on the French market.

Of the Dacia models, Sandero ranks 11 in the top of the most sold models on the French market, with 10,990 units sold in the first quarter and a 2.3 percent market share, followed by Duster on the 13th place with 9,008 new cars registered and a 1.9 percent market share.

In March, new Dacia car sales fell by 9.8 percent, from 10,305 units in 2014 to 9,292 units this year, according to the French Automobile Manufacturers Association.

France is the largest market of Dacia, new car registrations having increased by 12.9 percent last year as compared to 2013, to 105,896 units.
