SOUNDING BODIES | MOVING VOICES

sounding bodies│moving voices – Coaching project

We explore the realm of subconscious physical and acoustic imagery as an available source for voice and movement expression, first contacting our voice at an intimate level, strengthening the connection between breath, movement and sound, activating a readiness for non-ordinary forms of vocal engagement, then diving into our free-associative body by catching and riding the trajectory of each fleeting physical-vocal impulse in response to the environment, channeling their energy in readable and articulated forms.

We will play as well with gestures, automatic speech, surreal storytelling, trying to convey all the fun and playfulness into a rich and aware performative state. We will share small ensemble iimprovisations and learn from each other.

Alessio Castellacci is a performer, teacher and sound composer based in Berlin since 2007. In the last ten years he has developed a pedagogical approach to voice & movement exploration based on pleasure, intuitive precision and perceptive awareness which he teaches regularly throughout Europe. He is member of the collective Fingersix, and the artistic director of the program for training in experimental performance SMASH-Berlin.
