E-Motional Festival is an event dedicated to contemporary dance, organized by ZonaD/ Gabriela Tudor Foundation, offering over 15 events: 8 shows and work-in-progress presentations, 3 film dance screenings, 3 theoretical and critics debates, 2 workshops for the public, between October 5 – November 9.

Most of the events will take place at ZonaD/ Gabriela Tudor Foundation (Str. Iulia Hasdeu nr. 3), Bucharest National Dance Center and Lorgean Theatre, but also in public spaces and secret locations.

“E-Motional: rethinking dance” is an artist and manager-driven initiative, dedicated to exchange, research and artistic collaboration, co-production and touring, and audience development at European level. As the title shows, the guiding idea of the programme is re-thinking of artistic practices and formats and finding the right language in development of new artistic contents in the field of contemporary dance.

The festival will bring together over 25 dance artists and professionals such as Mihaela Dancs, Cosmin Manolescu, Vava Ștefănescu, Irinel Anghel, Jean Lorin Sterian, Cătălina Gubandru, Cristian Nanculescu, Marin Voica, Adriana Gheorghe, Iulia Sima, Giselda Ranieri (Italy), Tanja Andreeva (Norway), Steinunn Ketilsdóttir (Island), Joana von Mayer Trindade, Joclécio Azevedo, Rogério Nuno Costa (Portugal); festival director directors Olga Zitluhina (Latvia) and Alberto Magno (Portugal), dance critics Oana Stoica (Romania) and Inta Balode (Latvia).
