Several CEOs of companies active in Romania took part on Friday morning in a humanitarian action run by Habitat for Humanity called CEO Build. The CEOs were invited on the SOS Satele Copiilor construction site to participate in the renovation of several homes meant for underprivileged children.

Eric Stab (GDF SUEZ Energy Romania), Mihai Boldijar (Bosch Romania), Irina Ashukina (Philip Morris Trading), Jean Valvis (Valvis Holding), Adrian Garofeanu (Knauf Insulation), Iulia Lascau (Euroglobal), Dragos Panait (Red Angus Steakhouse & Hotel Class) and others helped reabilitate 12 homes on the SOS Satele Copiilor site right next to Promenada Mall.

“It was a special day for me! I could contribute to rebuilding houses for children in need of support. (…) I hope that through our gesture we can set an example for the entire community and show that work is a noble thing, regardless of social status or function” – Jean Valvis, CEO Valvis Holding

“It is a pleasure to work on the construction site, to spend a couple of hours in the SOS village with your peers. I was happy to lend a hand and hopefully I did a good job”,  – Mihai Boldijar, CEO Bosch Romania

“We chose to promote volunteering and the need for decent homes through this type of event, CEO Build, because Top Managers are the ones that set a trend in their company – no matter how busy you are, it’s good to stop for a little bit, look around you and see how you can help those around you. Secondly, top managers can take the Habitat for Humanity story further in their circle of friends, to other people that can help”– Mario DeMezzo, Habitat for Humanity Romania director.
