The ministries of Health, Defense, Economy, Education, Transport, Labor, Culture and Internal affairs will receive extra financing as a result of the first budget revision of this year. On the other hand, the Finance and Environment ministries will experience budgetary cuts.
Prime-minister Victor Ponta said on Monday that the first budgetary revision for this year will be positive. Asked if his Cabinet will supplement instead of cutting funds to ministries, the PM replied that “he can’t give as much as he would like”.

Health Ministry: RON 489 million
Health Insurance Authority: RON 166 million
Defense Ministry: RON 400 million
Economy Ministry: RON 300 million
Education Ministry: RON 150 million
Transport Ministry: RON 356 million
Internal Affairs and Election Authority: RON 192 million
Labor Ministry: RON 42 million
Culture Ministry: RON 10 million
Cuts
Finance Ministry: RON 750 million
Environment Ministry: RON 25 million.
The government estimates that revenues will increase by RON 1.07 billion and expenses by RON 1.34 billion, which means the deficit will remain at 2.2 percent of GDP.
The budget revision will be approved in a Government meeting on Friday, with a second revision being scheduled for the end of september.
