A powerful 5.8-magnitude earthquake has been felt on Sunday morning across Romania.
Nobody was injured by the tremor, which struck at 3:38 AM on Sunday, and there was no significant damage reported.
A series of aftershocks came after, but the magnitude was smaller. Romania’s Geodynamic Institute reported that the depth of the earthquake was at 143,125 km.
The epicenter of the earthquake was close to the following cities: Covasna(23km), Nehoiu(28km), Întorsura Buzăului(33km), Târgu Secuiesc(37km), Slănic-Moldova(54km).
The intensity of the tremor was of VI degree on the Mercali scale. The earthquake was felt as far away as Bulgaria, Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.
