While some Romanian retailers decided to have Black Friday on November 22 this year, traditionally Black Friday is taking place on November 29 in the United States. Some Romanian retailers organized Black Friday earlier, on November 22, but others decided to stick to the American model and have it on November 29 (even labeling it as “the real Black Friday”). There were also those who organized Black Friday on both occasions.

  •  Telecom operator Orange Romania kicked off Black Friday on November 22 but announced it will last until November 29. The campaign takes place exclusively in its online store wherefrom customers can acquire smartphone models such as iPhone 5C, Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Samsung Galaxy S4 zoom, HTC One, iPad mini, iPad with Retina screen, or can get a new postpay offer/ prolong the one they have right now. They can also buy at a discount accessories and gadgets, GPS systems, photo cameras, HDD, earphones, tablets, rucksacks, USD sticks.
  •  Telecom operator Vodafone Romania announced its Black Friday for the period November 28- December 1. Customers can acquire at prices starting from EUR 0, smartphone models such as Nokia Lumia 520 (with the Smart 15 and the extra-option of 200 MB traffic), Sony Xperia L (with Smart 19 and the extra-option of 300 MB traffic) or Samsung Galaxy S III (with RED 45) either from the company’s retail outlets or from its online store. Customers who renew or activate an Easy, Smart or RED postpay offer on Black Friday receive 1 GB of data traffic for one month.
  •  Telecom operator Romtelecom started Black Friday on November 22 in its online mall Clickshop.ro but the campaign will last until November 29. Clickshop.ro comes with discounts of up to RON 6,000 for 75 percent of its products including TV sets, laptops, tablets, smartphones, small and large household appliances, as well as home & deco and garden. Clickshop will also have discounts during the Black Friday weekend, November 29- December 1.
  •  Black Friday round 2 for F64 takes place on November 29, after the photo equipment retailer also offered discounts on November 22-24. The company says it has introduced new offers in its portfolio for the November 29th marathon. Last year, F64 received 5,700 orders over the Black Friday period, but this year it expects to make twice as many offers. The company also has boosted its website infrastructure to face the growing demand.
  •  GSM retailer Euro GSM will also have Black Friday on November 29, after also participating in the earlier November 22-24 edition. The retailer offers in its traditional outlets or online store discounts for smartphones, earphones, tablets, Bluetooth, USB sticks, laptop bags and telephone covers, the Samsung Galaxy Gear V700 watch, or the Samsung Galaxy Camera GC100. During this year’s Black Friday, the company estimates it will post a growth in website traffic equivalent to the number of visits during an ordinary month, while the number of orders will be 25 times bigger than the average daily number. The peak of orders is estimated to be on November 29.
  •  QuickMobile.ro is preparing discounts up to 50 percent for smartphones and tablets and discounts of up to 99 percent for other ranges of products and services. After an Early Black Friday on November 22, the company is having the ‘actual’ Black Friday starting midnight, on November 29. Over 500,000 visitors are expected to go on the company’s website.
  •  Retailer Lidl is jumping on the Black Friday bandwagon on November 29. Discounts will be applied to non-food products and are signaled at the shelves. The discounts will be up to at least 50 percent.Otilia Haraga
