President Traian Basescu said on Wednesday that, according to information leaked to the press, OMV Austria seems to be engaging in policies that are not favorable to Romania, writes Mediafax.

“There is a lot of information in the press that OMV Austria is seemingly launching policies that are not favorable to the Romanian state. I will say this openly: they will be our partners as long as Romania’s national interests are observed with priority”, according to the president.

The chief of state made these statements while visiting the Ocean Endeavor platform, where ExxonMobil and Petrom are currently drilling for natural gas deposits.

The president was greeted by ExxonMobil and Petrom managers.
