Software producer Arobs Transilvania Software recently launched the TraficOK service, which collects, interprets and delivers traffic-related data in real time in Romania, covering over 70 percent of the roads in the country. Voicu Oprean, president and CEO of Arobs Transilvania Software tells Business Review that he is looking at Sofia to open an office there.

Are you considering opening new offices in the region in the near future?

At the moment, we have offices in Romania in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iasi, Oradea, Ploiesti, Constanta, and abroad in San Diego, Chisinau and Budapest. In Hungary, we offer solutions for fleet management. For instance, the fiscal authority and the customs office in Hungary are using a solution developed by Arobs Transilvania Software in order to monitor their cars. In terms of new openings, Sofia may be an option for us in the future and we are currently analyzing the market. To make a decision, we are looking at the market potential and what people we want to have there. When we open a new office, we hire local people who develop the business in that country.

What is the current headcount at Arobs Transilvania Software and what are your recruitment plans?

We currently have around 300 people and we are growing our business. We are hiring people both for our sales team and for the technical team, programmers and database administrators. Last year, we posted 15 percent growth and we will probably keep up this pace this year as well. If all our plans work out, we will keep up the 15 percent surge next year too. This year we will probably reach a turnover somewhere around EUR 9 million and next year we will grow this by 15 percent.

Will you approach the authorities with the TaxiOk solution that you have just launched?

We are in discussions with the public authorities because we can offer them this service which keeps them informed about traffic incidents and allows them to develop their infrastructure. We are currently in discussions with the city halls, not only in Transylvania but also in Bucharest, where we are very active.
