The state has taken over a building in the property of the Food Research Institute (ICA) to cover for the EUR 60 million damages that must be recovered in the money laundry file in which Dan Voiculescu was convicted to 10 years in prison, according to Gandul.info.
At this address is the headquarters of the editorial office of Antena 3 TV channel, part of Intact Media Group, owned by Camelia Voiculescu, Dan Voiculescu’s daughter.
The building is part of the lot of properties that the court has ruled should be confiscated as part of the file in which media mogul Dan Voiculescu was convicted, according to Gandul.info.
The seizure of several properties as well as RON 5.8 million from Dan Voiculescu’s daughters – who are running his businesses officially now, was also decided as part of the verdict.
According to the case built against Voiculescu, the fraudulent privatization of ICA had been made to benefit him and his accomplices by under evaluating institute assets with over EUR 7.7 million. According to prosecutors the damages brought to the Romanian state amounted to over EUR 60 million.
