German chancellor Angela Merkel and the EC president Jose Manuel Barroso are expected in Bucharest for the EPP congress, taking place today and tomorrow at the Parliament Palace.
Angela Merkel’s intervention at the congress is scheduled for today, as are the ones of European Commission president Jose Manuel Barroso, and the European Council president Herman Van Rompuy,
Current EPP leader Wilfried Martens and the EPP leader in the European Parliament Joseph Daul delivered the opening speeches at the congress this morning.
President Traian Basescu is also set to speak today at the congress.
Spanish prime minister Mariano Rajoy, Polish prime minister Donald Tusk and Moldavian prime minister Vlad Filat will speak today at the congress as well.
