American TV network AMC, currently one of the most popular TV stations in media thanks to the success of productions such as Mad Men, Breaking Bad and Walking Dead, will be launched in Romania on November 5, replacing MGM channel, according to an announcement from AMC Network, writes economica.net.

“Starting with November 5, America’s favorite TV channel is coming to Romania, coming to your homes!”, reads the announcement made by the company.

AMC’s original productions “Halt & Catch Fire” and “The Divide” will be among the first that will have their international premiere this year, on the new AMC channel.

“In the last few years, AMC has redefined Pay-TV dramas by approaching its television shows with a cinema-flare, referring to The Walking Dead, Mad Men and Breaking Bad. We want to copy our strategy in the US and implement it around the world and create a wider conduit for our original shows”, according to Ed Carroll, operational director AMC Network.

“There is huge demand for AMC original shows overseas. This interest, doubled by the successful experience of selecting movies from the biggest studios, gives us the opportunity to turn AMC Global into a worldwide entertainment destination. We strongly believe that AMC Global will be a valuable acquisition for our partners’ distribution platforms as we work together to grow their business”, according to Bruce Tuchman, president AMC Global and Sundance Channel Global.
