AFI Europe closed a preliminary agreement to purchase the land owned by the retailer Cora in Brasov Civic Center, where the company wants to build a mall, the decision being taken in the context in which the first project of this type in the city, Coresi, developed by Immochan, will be delivered next month.

Contacted by Mediafax, AFI Europe and Cora representatives did not make comments on the information.

Cora Romania bought in 2010 the 40.000 sqm land in the Civic Center of Brasov from Hidromecanica for about EUR 13 million, where it intended to develop a large shopping center, an investment of EUR 70 million. At the end of 2013, Cora announced that it wants to attract a partner in the project to develop the mall.

AFI Europe operates two shopping centers, AFI Palace Bucharest (opened in late 2009) and AFI Palace Ploiesti (opened in 2013), and is planning a similar project in Bucurestii Noi area.
