Dumitru Cornoiu, prefect for Valcea county, announced on Monday for Agerpres that a multinational company in the car parts industry will build a new production plant in Ostroveni industrial park next year, thus creating 1,500 new jobs, writes economica.net.

Faurecia is present in the area since 2013 with a factory where it employs 300 people. Faurecia is the 6th largest car part producer in the world.

“The factory would be constructed in 2015 and it could open in the autumn, according to the discussions we’ve had with the management team. The municipality will offer 3 ha of land in the Ostroveni industrial park for the project. It is important to mention that the number of new jobs would be 1,500, a breath of fresh air for the county’s labour market, after several companies have entered bankruptcy. We should also add that this company is already present on the Valcea market, with a plant where it hires 300 people”, the prefect said.

Faurecia supplies parts for Ford, Renault-Nissan, Peugeot, BMW, Daimler, General motors, Toyota and Hyundai. The French company also has factories in Pitesti, Craiova and Talmaciu.

The Valcea authorities emphasize that this is a worthy example for any multinational company and are open to new investments that could create jobs.
