2Cellos return to Romania for December concert

2Cellos duo, Luka Sulic and Stjepan Hauser, dubbed the “orchestra-people” will hold a concert at Sala Palatului on December 6, announced representatives of Phoenix Entertainment.

Along with drummer Dusan Kranjc, the two musicians will reveal the strength of the cello and show that Brahms, Elton John, Steve Vai and Iron Maiden have much in common, contrary to common beliefs.

The two musicians are returning to our country after filling the concert hall last year.

“What brings the duo to so much appreciation is that they combine classical style with contemporary and they always take care to insert elements of surprise, giving songs like “Thunderstruck”(AC / DC), “VooDoo People” (The Prodigy) and  “Welcome to the Jungle” (Guns’n Roses) a totally unexpected turn,” said a Mediafax article after last year’s concert.

Elton John is also an admirer of their work, stating: “I don’t remember seeing anything as interesting since Jimi Hendrix’s concert in the sixties”.

Luka Sulic and Stjepan Hauser are from Croatia. Their style has broken barriers between different musical genres, reshaping elements of classical music, pop, rock or electro.

The audience going to Sala Palatului on December 6 will be listening to AC / DC, Iron Maiden, Michael Jackson, Prodigy and others, complete with video projections on stage.

2Cellos were invited to sing on stage with Elton John, the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Queens of The Stone Age, George Michael and Lang Lang.

They were invited to popular US shows (Jay Leno, Ellen DeGeneres), and the Glee series in a special episode dedicated to Michael Jackson. Moreover, their interpretation of “Smooth Criminal” debuted at No. 10 on Billboard 100 best songs released digitally.

Tickets are available at prices of RON 300, 250 190, 140 and 110, in the Eventim network and online at eventim.ro.
