Trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles up 6.6 percent in the first 5 months of the year

The trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles turnover increased in the first 5 months by 6.6 percent compared to the same period of 2018 as series adjusted by number of working days, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INS). The volume of turnover for market services rendered to the population increased both as gross series by 16.2 percent and as series adjusted by number of working days and seasonality by 16 percent.

The volume of turnover increased in the trade with motorcycles, spare parts and accessories; maintenance and repair of motorcycles (+ 50.6 percent), trade in parts and accessories for motor vehicles (+ 9.1 percent), trade in motor vehicles (+ 5.5 percent) and maintenance and repair of motor vehicles (3.3 percent).

Between 1 January and 31 May 2019, total turnover in wholesale and retail trade, maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, adjusted by number of working days, and of seasonality increased by 5.9 percent.

The activity of market services rendered to the population, gross series, registered a turnover of 16.2 percent, 2018, an increase supported by the activities of hotels and restaurants (+ 25 percent), hairdressing and other beauty activities (+ 21.4 percent), washing and cleaning (dry) of textiles and fur products (+ 12.9 percent) and the activities of gambling and other recreational activities (+ 7.8 percent). Turnover from tour operators and tour operators decreased by 7.6 percent.

The activity of market services rendered to the population, adjusted series according to the number of working days and seasonality registered a 16 percent higher turnover.

Total volume of wholesale and retail trade, maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, gross series, in May 2019, compared to the previous month, increased by 14 percent due to increases in trade in motor vehicles (+ 16.9 percent), trade in motorcycles, spare parts and accessories; maintenance and repair of motorcycles (+ 16.5 percent), trade in motor vehicle parts and accessories (+ 10.4 percent) and maintenance and repair of motor vehicles (+ 7.9 percent).

Total volume of turnover for wholesale and retail trade, maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, series adjusted by number of working days and seasonality, in May 2019, compared to the previous month, increased by 3.9 percent.

Regarding the market services rendered to the population, gross series, in May 2019, compared to the previous month, the turnover volume grew by 8 percent due to the increases in hotels and restaurants (+ 11.2 percent ), the activities of tour operators and tour operators (+ 10.7 percent) and washing and cleaning (dry) of textiles and fur products (+ 5.4 percent). Decreases in turnover were recorded in hairdressing and other beauty activities (-4.2 percent) and in gambling and other recreational activities (-0.5 percent).

Turnover volume for market services rendered to the population, adjusted by number of working days and seasonality, in May 2019 compared to the previous month, increased by 1.4 percent.

Total volume of turnover for wholesale and retail trade, maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, gross series, in May 2019, compared to May 2018, increased by 9.7 percent due to increases in trade with motorcycles, parts and accessories thereof; maintenance and repair of motorcycles (+ 41 percent), trade in motor vehicles (+ 11.4 percent), trade in parts and accessories for motor vehicles (+ 8.9 percent) and maintenance and repair of motor vehicles (+ 0.8 percent).

Total volume of turnover for wholesale and retail trade, maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, seasonally adjusted series adjusted for May 2019 increased by 6.8 percent.
