The local market of refurbished electronic equipment will grow this year by 25 percent, according to estimation made by evoMag. The main reason for the increase is the lower purchase price, in some cases even half compared to new equipment prices, followed by the equipment’s performance, close to the latest generation one.

“In the past year, we have doubled our sales in the refurbished electronics category. More and more customers have become aware of the benefits of refurbished products, especially since, in recent years, technological innovation has not placed much emphasis on computing power but on reducing product dimensions and energy efficiency,” says Mihai Patrascu, evoMAG CEO.

Currently, evoMAG can acquire refurbished equipment such as laptops, PCs or PC systems, black and white laser printers, color laser printers, multifunction printers and monitors.

The most popular products in the evoMAG refurbished electronics category are laptops with a 68 percent sales share, PCs or PC systems, with 20 percent share in refurbished electronics, and printers and multifunctionals with 10 percent weight.

Thus, for example, evoMAG customers can purchase refurbished laptops from RON 699, refurbished computers at prices starting at RON 269 or cheaper refurbished multifunction printers (by 52 percent). Affordable refurbished electronics are also available on Black Friday, but the products available at the discounts are different from the ones on show now.

What is a refurbished product?

Refurbished products are professional IT equipment that has been used in the European business environment and which, through various leasing programs, return to the manufacturer and are subsequently sold as refurbished electronic equipment. Manufacturers offering these devices are Dell, HP, Lenovo, Fujitsu, Lexmark, Brother, Samsung, HP and many others.

Refurbished products are thoroughly cleaned from dust and traces of use, have each component checked, possibly replacing parts if necessary then tested to be 100 percent functional in accordance with the original product.

Main advantages of refurbished products

Laptops, PCs / PC systems:

  • Reduced prices, in some cases, even half compared to a similar new system;
  • The products are shipped with licensed Windows (Windows 10 Home and Pro);
  • The configuration is topical (I3, I5, I7 systems);
  • The systems are being tested;
  • Warranty 12 months.

Printers / Multifunction Monitors:

  • Lower prices on average by up to 30 percent;
  • Compatibility of tested components through hundreds of tests so that performance is not impaired;
  • Updated software;
  • Warranty 12 months.

Using reconditioned electronic equipment is a good solution both for companies that want to cut costs and for those who want to invest in systems that are old but running very well most of the new applications. At the same time, refurbished electronics are increasingly being acquired by individual users who are aware of these benefits.
