The TeraPlast Group, the largest producer of construction materials with Romanian capital, signed a financing agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (BERD) worth EUR 5 million for the development of production units. The investment targets Depaco – the second largest player in the metal roofing market in Romania, with the Wetterbest brand.
“The financing agreement is a proof of the Group’s potential and its determination to develop. The stability of our group is reflected by the fact that we have managed to attract such an important financier as the BERD, through which we will benefit from the current market opportunities and we will prepare for future development. The Depaco project involves the construction of a new greenfield production facility with an annual capacity of 10 million square feet of roofing The new plant is in line with our responsible development principles and the goal of becoming the number one on the market,” said Dorel Goia, chairman of TeraPlast’s board of directors.
The EUR 5 million is the partial financing of a project implemented through a state aid scheme, which involves the development of a new production unit: new production, storage and production facilities. The production unit to be developed under the project will be built in a new location and will have a cumulative annual production of over 10 million square meters of tile and profiles.
The TeraPlast Group has always pursued an ambitious investment policy, amounting to more than EUR 100 million over the past 10 years, both in state-of-the-art technology and in diversifying its product portfolio and expanding its distribution network.
