The Minister of Finance, Eugen Teodorovici, made a public statement about the CSAT meeting in which the state budget rectification was denined. The official did not stayed for any questions and made only a few declarations about the negative effects of refusal.

Here is the main ideas from Egen Teodorovici statement:

”Any delay in the approval of the budget rectification will lead to problems of delayed works or even blocked activities. On the salary side, for some institutions there will be delays in payment due to the blockage.

Also public investments, including local authorities projects on utilities or other works will be problems on the payments and the continuing of the projects. As for the swine fever, we need the money for the compensation of the owners, for the transport and slaughter of the animals.

There might be delays for the Autumn agricultural campaign and in the Health sector there may be unpleasant effects in ensuring blood reserves for patients or medications and also for treatment abroad for those who need it.

These are just a few of the negative effects of the the approval of the law. I have to specify that the budget rectification needs only an opinion not an endorsement.

Also, the meeting was suspended, which is not foreseen in any law.

The opinion of those present at the meeting differs totally from what President Iohannis said in public. We will ask for the declassification of the minutes of the meeting to see what was discussed there, it would be a normal fact of transparency.”
