The Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport in Otopeni has announced that UTI Group is the winner of a tender for the upgrade and expansion of the airport’s video surveillance system, and the company will earn EUR 4.6 million excluding VAT for the contract, which will be valid until April 2023, profit.ro reports.
The tender procedure began in November 2017. Besides UTI Group, the following companies had submitted offers: Mira Telecom, Rasirom, Telekom Romania Communications, the Radiocommunicatinos Services Centre, Helinick, Kardinal BUid AG, Microcip Electronics, Morningstar Consulting and Ipsateq Consult.
When it is complete, the video surveillance system (TVCI) will allow the automatic recognition of vehicle license plates and will also include face recognition software and intelligent video analysis.
The upgrade will also include an enlargement of the current coverage of the system via a number of new cameras, as well as an upgrade of the existing video data centre.
UTI Group is a Romanian company founded in 1990 that works in five major business lines: security systems, IT and communications, smart transport systems, construction and facility management. It has over 1,100 employees and it is indirectly controlled by businessman Tiberiu Urdareanu, through UTI Holdings BV (Netherlands) and TIU Holding Ltd (Cyprus).
