Job searches in February up by 18 percent compared to one year ago

Job searches in February has accelerated by 18 percent compared to the same month of 2018 and by 15 percent compared to the previous month, according to BestJobs. The positions of driver, accountant and engineer were the most sought after for the second month in a row.

The most sought-after jobs in February continue to be in areas such as transport with over 23,000 searches, but decreasing compared to the previous month by 60 percent, financial accounting, with over 25,000 searches at the same level as in January, and engineering, with over 16,000 searches, slightly down from January. The increased interest in job candidates in these areas confirms that job vacancy is insufficient. Domains such as sales, human resources, or marketing have also been in search in February with a total search volume of more than 30,000.

Energy, tobacco and technology companies have attracted most candidates

In February of this year, the top ten companies that received the most applications in the posted jobs were ENEL (2,346 applications), JT International (2,337 applications), Oracle Romania (2,160 applications), Kaufland Romania Alpha Bank (1,669 apps), Deichmann (1,667 applications), Rompetrol (1,667 applications), Banca Transilvania (1,638 applications), Pepco Retail (1,557 applications) and British American Tobacco (1,537 applications).

Most of these preferred employers also registered spontaneous applications directly on their profile page on BestJobs.eu from candidates who would like to work in the company, even if at the time of applying a position appropriate to their profile it was open.

The companies with the best employer brand in February were: Oracle, with 155 spontaneous applications, Nestle, with 144 spontaneous applications, British American Tobacco, with 124 spontaneous applications, OMV and JT International with 116 applications each Coca-Cola HBC Romania and Unilever South Central Europe, with 112 spontaneous applications each, Alka Trading, with 103 spontaneous applications, Kaufland Romania with 102 spontaneous applications, and Sodexo with 101 spontaneous applications.
