Business Review’s Working Romania Event looks at the new trends that challenge the leading local human resources industry and the digitization of the industry. Miruna Stoica, Cloud Solutions Consultant at Oracle, talked about the reasons why the HR industry is the most advanced in terms of digitization today.

“In the future of work, we need to talk about HR processes, not just about employees. When talking about digitization, we should consider the fact that the HR industry is the most advanced at the moment,” Miruna Stoica said.

She also listed the reasons why the HR industry is the best industry to work in.

“The first argument is that there is a lot of investment in the HR area, including people analytics. HR is the most analytic-driven function. We have a great deal of data on employees and candidates, but we should use this data in a predictive way as well, trying to see what will happen in the future. We have talents in the company: what makes them talented? The software can analyze all of these profiles in the company and can look at LinkedIn, for example, find the people closest to these profiles, the candidates best suited to success in the company. It is a form of predictive analytics. To avoid an unexpected departure, we can use predictive apps to see who would be willing to resign in the next period,” she explained.

The second argument is that innovation can make work much more humane.

“Even if we are surrounded by screens, the software can help us see more than just phones and laptop screens. Chatbot applications can help, too. What this whole technology does is allow us to “turn back time” and see what a real situation is for an employee. There is also a video application that tracks the activity of an office and reads the facial reactions of those present, so it can show us how a staff member feels throughout a year. There are companies where employees need to be evaluated periodically, and now we can do this by augmented reality without having to interact directly with the employee.”

The third argument is that HR has become the favorite of the IT industry. HR applications are the easiest to develop due to the proximity HR can have with IT staff.
