Huawei’s revenues up 24.4 percent in third quarter of 2019 to USD 86.5 billion

Huawei announced financial results for the third quarter of 2019, when the company generated revenue of CNY 610.8 billion (USD 85.6 billion), up 24.4 percent from last year. The net profit margin of the company during this period was 8.7 percent.

The Chinese producer continued to focus on ICT infrastructure and smart devices over the past few months, managing to increase the efficiency and quality of its operations. This has contributed to increased operational and organizational stability and strengthened the company’s performance in the first three quarters of 2019.

As for the Carrier division, the commercial implementation of 5G networks has been accelerated globally, the company continuing to launch innovative solutions such as 5G Super Uplink, with top operators, intelligent and simplified communications networks. Also, Huawei has collaborated with industry partners to establish an industry alliance and innovation base for deterministic 5G networks that will enable operator innovation and development.

To date, Huawei has signed over 60 5G commercial contracts with leading operators around the world, distributing over 400,000 Massive MIMO 5G base stations to global markets. Huawei’s production and supply of optical transmission, data communications and IT products have grown steadily.

In the enterprise sector, the company launched the Huawei Horizon digital platform. This convergent, open and efficient platform was built on Huawei’s vast technological experience. With this, Huawei aims to work with customers and partners to create a foundation for the digital world, developing a digital transformation industry worth trillions of US dollars. The platform will also support various sectors such as government, public utilities, finance, transport and electricity, to accelerate their digital transformation.

By the end of the third quarter of 2019, over 700 cities, 228 Fortune Global 500 companies and 58 Fortune Global 100 companies have chosen Huawei as a digital transformation partner.

The development of Huawei’s cloud services has accelerated. In the third quarter, Huawei announced its strategy for the computing market and launched Atlas 900, the world’s fastest artificial intelligence (AI) training cluster. Other innovative products that the company has launched include the AI ​​Huawei Cloud Ascend cluster services, 112 new services powered by Kunpeng and Ascend processors and Industrial Intelligent Twins. These products have made major strides in governments, ISPs, automobiles, finance and many other industries. Three million enterprise users and developers have used Huawei Cloud to develop products and solutions.

As for the Consumer Business division, the Huawei smartphone segment has grown steadily. Shipments of Huawei smartphones in the first three quarters of 2019 exceeded 185 million units, 26 percent more than in the previous year. The company has also seen rapid growth in other new segments such as PCs, tablets, accessories and smart audio products.

Also in the third quarter was launched the Vision smart screen, which presents unique innovations in software and hardware, being highly appreciated by industry and consumers. A more robust ecosystem that focuses on consumers and offers a smarter fluid experience across all major user scenarios is now taking shape.

The Huawei Mobile Services ecosystem also expanded rapidly, covering over 170 countries and regions, attracting over 1.07 million registered developers worldwide.
